Brendan Bakey

Senior Architect

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP O+M, CDT

Brendan’s interest in architecture began early, sparked by trips from Wisconsin to Minneapolis where he first encountered high-rise buildings and urban density. Those experiences left a lasting impression and set him on a path toward architecture as both a discipline and a profession. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and brings a strong professional foundation as an AIA member with an NCARB certificate, along with LEED AP O+M and CDT credentials. Growing up between Dubuque, Iowa, and La Crosse, Wisconsin, Brendan later moved west to Yakima for his first architectural role before settling in the Seattle area to continue developing his career.

With nearly 20 years in the industry, Brendan has worked across a broad spectrum of project types, gaining versatility and a well-rounded perspective. Most recently focused on corporate interiors, he is now turning his attention to retail projects. Brendan values architecture as a continuously evolving profession, appreciating that every project presents new challenges and opportunities to learn—even when working within familiar building types.

Outside of the office, Brendan enjoys strategy-based computer games, spending time with family, and exploring ways to optimize everyday life for greater efficiency. His bucket list includes designing and overseeing the construction of his own home, traveling to Central Asia—including destinations such as Mongolia—and attempting to write a non-fiction book. A defining trait of Brendan’s personality is his curiosity, often turning casual interests into in-depth research projects, driven by a genuine fascination with data, systems, and how things work.
