An innate math whiz, architecture was intrinsic for Corey – his father was a math teacher and taught him College Algebra to Calculus and would give him math problems to solve from restaurant children’s menus. Coupled with an interest in art, his transition into architecture was a seamless fit. Corey grew up in Ada, Oklahoma and began his journey into architecture at Oklahoma State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in architecture and a minor in Philosophy. Afterwards, Corey and his girlfriend packed their bags and moved to Seattle in pursuit of a more temperate climate and to be near the coastline. Since then, he’s spent the past 4 years working on mostly residential and mixed-use projects in Seattle but is excited to learn more about high rises and offices. What intrigues him the most about the profession is the art behind designing buildings and utilizing problem solving tactics to find solutions given the environmental challenges the practice is facing.
Outside of the office, Corey enjoys painting and playing Warhammer, watching anime and playing Dungeons & Dragons. With all the natural beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer, he looks forward to traveling more and partaking in the many seasonal activities like floating on the river, snowboarding and attending festivals and concerts.
